Crash while starting GP

While I was opening GP for a gig (show), it crashed and closed.

I had it send the automatic report to you guys.

I could try to figure out where the crash report is and attach it.

Luckily I had time to let all ram unload (Window), shut down the computer, restarted the computer, restarted GP (after waiting a few seconds) and everything seemed to work fine.

Is it possible that starting GP immediately after starting the Windows laptop could somehow overstress ram. (Just throwing this out there). Hopefully this is a one time thing.

Please do that

No, but if you had just started it, maybe Windows hadn’t finished initializing everything needed.

Is this it?

No, but it has a reference to the file that we DO need

Hmm, I don’t see any zip file there. I only see logs (text files).

Does it sometimes not create the file?

If you look at that log, it claims (second line) to have created a ZIP archive. I don’t know why it wouldn’t still be there.
Also, I’m wondering why it failed to send the report (later errors). Was your machine connected to the internet at the time?

Correct. It makes sense the report did not go out. I was not connected to the internet (at a gig).

But it’s weird there is no zip file.

I feel pretty comfortable the issue was I immediately started GP without giving the laptop time to initialize. So, I’ll wait 30 secs for now on. Does that make sense?

Sure, but I wouldn’t mind if you were connected to the internet and you tried again to crash it so we can see what might be going on

Hmm, maybe, although I hate seeing any type of crash on my system (and always have suspicion that the crash itself can cause as issue going forward).

But, I will probably try it. (And I wonder whether I will be starting GP before the laptop connects to the wifi/internet).

UPDATE:

We’ll the good news: I started up GP as soon as I could after logging into the computer and no crash/problem.

Bad news: I started up GP as soon as I could after logging into the computer and no crash/problem. (So, no further information is available.)
